WHAT I BELIEVE: I believe in the power of a single idea. A single good idea, anyway. Frankly, there’s just not a lot of power in a single bad idea, like scheduling “Bat Day” when the Red Sox play at Yankee Stadium. I believe in long, slow downloads that last 3 days. I believe in the designated driver, the fungo bat, and keeping words like gazebo and zamboni around just because they’re fun to say. I believe in naps but not Napster.(more..)

The Revolution will be Specialized© (Keynote Interview/Podcast)

Educated but not TRAINED. Educated but not SKILLED. Educated but not QUALIFIED. If you see the PATTERN - you see the PROBLEM!

Legend tells us, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear…and assign you 20 years of homework, term papers, and education – plus TRILLIONS in student debt – and you’re STILL not ready for a job! America has HUGE Skills Gap, Employment Gap, Income Gap, Opportunity Gap, and Achievement Gap. Name the problem - there’s a Gap for that. The world has more people, professions, and petabytes of data than EVER– and schools are still trying to teach it ALL! The result? A generation of broad shallow generalists while EMPLOYERS are looking for focused highly-skilled specialists. EPIC FAIL! The solution? GIVE UP. Then prioritize and SPECIALIZE!

What follows is a link to an interview podcast highlighting my 2018 Big Data MAGA-Trends Symposium keynote entitled, "The Revolution will be Specialized©" and which finally SOLVES America's Skills Gap. (Warning: Don't send your kids to college until you've listened!)
